University of Zagreb, Faculty of Food and Biotechnology, Pierottijeva 6, based on articles 57, 58. and 59 of the Statute of the University of Zagreb Faculty of Food and Biotechnology announces PUBLIC COMPETITION • For the selection of one executor (m/f) in the associate title and associate position - assistant in the scientific field: biotechnical sciences; in the scientific field: biotechnology, in the Biochemistry Laboratory of the Institute of Chemistry and Biochemistry, for a certain period of time with full-time work (until the return of the temporarily absent worker) Mandatory conditions: - All candidates of the Competition must meet the general conditions prescribed by the Labor Act ("Official Gazette" no. 93/14, 127/17, 98/19, 151/22 and 64/23) and the provisions of the Act on Higher Education and scientific activity ("Narodne novine" no. 119/2022), Article 91 of the Statute of the University of Zagreb and Article 58 of the Statute of the University of Zagreb Faculty of Food and Biotechnology. Preferred criteria: - active knowledge of the English language in speech and writing; - knowledge of computer work; - past recognitions, awards, etc. for excellence in studies and research work; - desirable participation in scientific research work; - desirable experience in techniques of working with nucleic acids (isolation and analysis of DNA and RNA, cloning, PCR, qPCR, electrophoresis); - desirable experience in working techniques with proteins (protein isolation, electrophoresis, western blot, measurement of enzyme activity). Along with the application for the competition, it is necessary to attach the following in addition to the above in the text: 1. CV; 2. application (indication of the position to which he applies); 3. confirmation of the Croatian Pension Insurance Institute (HZMO) about the data recorded in the HZMO database, i.e. Electronic records; not older than the date of publication of this Competition 4. proof of appropriate professional training from which it can be determined that the candidate meets the conditions for selection to the appropriate position; 5. proof of the specified desirable and mandatory criteria and experiences; 6. decision on the recognition of foreign educational qualification for those candidates who obtained the qualification abroad; 7. proof of knowledge of the Croatian language level C2 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages ​​- foreign nationals;

Registered candidates (m/f) who are shortlisted may be invited for an interview and/or testing.

Candidates who invoke the right of priority in employment in accordance with:

– Article 102 of the Law on Croatian Veterans of the Homeland War and Members of Their Families (Official Gazette No. 121/17, 98/19, 84/21);

- Article 9 of the Act on Professional Rehabilitation and Employment of Persons with Disabilities (Official Gazette No. 157/13, 152/14 and 39/18), they are obliged to refer to this right in their application for the competition and have priority over other candidates only under equal conditions.

A candidate who is invited in the tender application for the right of priority in employment in accordance with Article 102 of the Act on Croatian Veterans of the Homeland War and their family members, along with the application for the public tender, is obliged to submit, in addition to proof of fulfillment of the required conditions, the evidence prescribed by the article 103, paragraph 1 of the Act on Croatian Veterans of the Homeland War and their family members, which are published on the website of the Ministry of Croatian Veterans: .https://branitelji.gov.hr/zaposljavanje-843/843 .
 

A candidate who, in his application, refers to the right of priority in employment in accordance with Article 48.f of the Act on the Protection of Military and Civilian War Invalids, must, in addition to proof of fulfillment of the required conditions, attach a decision or certificate from which the above is clearly stated right and proof of how his employment ended.

A candidate who, in his application, refers to the right of priority in employment in accordance with Article 9 of the Act on Professional Rehabilitation and Employment of Persons with Disabilities must, in addition to proof of fulfillment of the required conditions, also submit proof of disability.

Pursuant to Art. 13. paragraph 1. (Official Gazette No. 82/08, 69/17) of the Law on Gender Equality, persons of both sexes can apply for the competition.
