The Department of Mathematics at Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) invites applications and nominations for multiple tenured or tenure-track faculty positions (Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, Full Professor, and Chair Professor) in all areas of pure and applied mathematics. Candidates should have demonstrated excellence in research and a strong commitment to teaching. A doctoral degree is required at the time of appointment. Applicants for senior positions must have an established strong record of research and leadership in their research area. Positions are open to all nationalities, but candidates are expected to be fluent in English as a substantial number of courses at SUSTech are taught in English.

Salary and start-up funds are highly competitive on the international level and will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. Regular faculty members (tenured and tenure-track) qualify for housing subsidy as well.

SUSTech was established in 2011 as a global international major research university. The mission of the Department of Mathematics is to conduct world-class research and provide first-class mathematical education. The department offers bachelor, master, and doctoral degrees. Current faculty members include three members of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and two ICM 45 minutes invited speakers. Almost all faculty members have had multiple years of teaching and research experience in top universities outside of China. A large percentage of them held tenured positions abroad before joining SUSTech. The research interests of the faculty members cover a broad range of Mathematics, including Pure Mathematics, Computational and Applied Mathematics, Probability and Financial Mathematics. SUSTech is located in Shenzhen, which is a modern, high-tech, coastal city in Southern China adjacent to Hong Kong.
