Postdoctoral Researcher Positions in High Energy Astrophysics (Nuclear Astrophysics or Particle Astrophysics)

Applications are invited for the postdoctoral researcher positions in the Particle Astrophysics Division at the Institute of High Energy Physics (IHEP), Chinese Academy of Sciences. The successful candidates will join Prof. Xilu Wang's group to work on theoretical high-energy astrophysics studies, or data analysis and theoretical developments to support current and future high-energy missions at IHEP, including HXMT, HERD, LHAASO, MeVGRO, etc. Researchers with theoretical, computational, experimental, or observational expertise on nuclear astrophysics or astro-particle, such as nucleosynthesis, radiative transfer, particle acceleration, neutrinos, cosmic rays, gamma rays, supernovae, neutron star mergers, or related topics, are encouraged to apply. The candidates will also be encouraged to pursue their own line of research within the above-described areas.

Up to two positions will be offered. Each available for 2 years and renewable for up to 3 additional years, depending on performance and funding availability. The anticipated start time of the appointment is fall 2023, but can be as early as April 1st, 2023.  The applicants should be under 35 years old and are expected to have obtained their PhD degree in physics, astronomy or other related fields by the starting date, which is flexible within 2023. 

The annual salary is around 220,000 to 350,000 CNY per year before tax, depending on qualifications. The institute additionally provides a comprehensive package of fringe benefits (health insurances, housing subsidies, etc.). Travel funding will also be provided, allowing the postdocs to travel for domestic and international conferences and collaboration.
