Duties and Responsibilities

  • Cconduct research in China’s Eco-urbanization holding special expertise in one or more of the following subfields:
    • Climate mitigation, adaptation and resilience;
    • Urban climate governance;
    • Eco-/low-carbon urbanism;
    • Political economy of carbon neutrality;
    • State power and eco-urbanization;
    • Climate justice;
    • and energy geography;

Requirements:

  • A Ph.D. degree in Geography or a related discipline (e.g., environmental sciences, planning, sociology, politics, and economics);
  • A demonstrated record of relevant scholarly publications and grantsmanship;
  • Expertise and research experience in China’s climate governance, climate justice, state power and eco-urbanization, political economy of carbon neutrality, and/or energy geography;
  • Relevant field work experience in China is preferred

What we offer:

The appointment will commence from January 1st , 2025, or as soon as possible thereafter, but in any case not later than May 1st , 2025, for a period of 2 to 3 years.
