Introduction of Shenzhen Technology University

Shenzhen Technology University (SZTU) is a public institution of higher education established by Guangdong Province and Shenzhen Municipality with a sound beginning and high standards. Its establishment as a university of applied sciences was officially approved by the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China on November 30, 2018. The establishment of SZTU is an important measure taken by Guangdong Province and Shenzhen Municipality to explore higher education of applied sciences above the undergraduate level in order to implement the Central Government's in-depth reform of the educational system and mechanisms.

Introduction of the College of Big Data and Internet

Serving the strategic emerging sectors of China, such as electronic information, computer technology, network security technology and application, the College of Big Data and Internet is set to offer courses in Internet of Things Engineering, Computer Science and Technology, Software Engineering, Electronic and Information Engineering and Microelectronic Engineering in the initial stage. Currently, it provides bachelor’s degree in Internet of Things Engineering, Data Science and Big Data Technology, and Computer Science and Technology, as well as master’s degree in Computer Technology. In the curriculum, it emphasizes the research and development of IoT application system and electronic information products based on computer technology and information network. It also focuses on combining basic knowledge with frontier data technology as well as methodology with practical skills.

Discipline Orientation of Recruitment

The Department of Mathematics in the College of Big Data and Internet at SZTU invites applications and nominations for multiple tenured or tenure-track faculty positions (Lecturer,Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, and Full Professor) in Basic Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Computational Mathematics, Statistics and other related majors. Candidates should have demonstrated excellence in research and a strong commitment to teaching. We especially encourage individuals whose interests and backgrounds are at the intersection of multiple areas to apply. Applicants should hold or expect to obtain a Ph.D. degree in a relevant field. The ability to teach effectively, at both the undergraduate and graduate levels to diverse groups of students, is required. Junior applicants must demonstrate a clear and high potential to enhance research and educational missions of College of Big Data and Internet. Senior applicants must have a well-established record of research and teaching accomplishments and have demonstrated scientific creativity and leadership with externally funded and highly visible research programs.
