Offer Description

Join us in pioneering the next frontier of additive manufacturing at PolymerETS! We are seeking a dynamic and innovative PhD candidate to lead groundbreaking research in designing materials with gradient electrical conductivity using additive manufacturing techniques.

Subject:

Gradient materials, for which properties change gradually over space, hold immense potential for revolutionizing various industries. In the case of polymer with gradient conductivity it means that the conductivity of the material changes gradually within the structure. Additive manufacturing techniques like multi-material 3D printing or variations in printing parameters can be utilized to achieve gradient conductivity in materials. For instance, by mixing conductive additives into the polymer matrix at varying concentrations or by controlling the orientation of conductive filler particles during printing, you can create structures with gradient conductivity. These structures can have unravelling applications in flexible electronics, sensors, energy harvesting devices or electromagnetic shielding effectiveness. They offer advantages such as improved performance, reduced weight, and enhanced functionality compared to homogeneous materials.
