Located in the spectacular landscape of northern British Columbia, UNBC is a leading research-intensive university in Northern British Columbia with five faculties and the Division of Medical Sciences. The Northern BC Archives, housed in the Library, is dedicated to acquire, preserve and provide access to materials that are related to the institutional history of UNBC and the culture and History of Northern British Columbia.

Reporting to the Provost and working closely with the VP Research, the Deans of the five faculties, the AVP of the Division of Medical Sciences, and others, the University Librarian is a visionary leader at the forefront of library and archival sciences who will lead the library and its dedicated professional staff as it meets the challenges of information and knowledge management in the digital age.
