Position Summary:

2 Undergraduate Student Research Assistants to work in the Combustion and Energy Systems research group, reporting to Professor Jeff Bergthorson of the Mechanical Engineering Department.

1. Complete all necessary safety training, review technical documents for setups, and sign safety documents before starting to work in laboratory.

2. Operate experiments and perform testing under the guidance of senior laboratory personnel and the industrial partners, FeX Energy.
3. Coordinate procurement of consumables and replacement hardware to keep rigs running.

4. Analyze experimental results, perform materials testing in shared McGill facilities, and summarize results in presentations and reports, recommend learnings and next steps.
5. Engage with partners in weekly/biweekly meetings to discuss progress, identify next steps, and engage in the planning process per sprint.
6. Prepare a final report on the work, to be submitted two weeks before the end of the contract.


Qualifications:
Applicants have to be registered as Undergraduate Students in the Mechanical Engineering Department.
