Opportunity

The Technology Support Desk is seeking candidates for casual Technician level 1 positions. The Technology Support Desk is the single point of contact for all computer and instructional technology support at MacEwan. This front facing position provides evening and weekend technology support via instant chat, walk up and email.
Duties include end-user support and escalation, Wi-Fi setup, and printing support.  The position also supports the audio visual and computer technology in classrooms. The position also provides support for student equipment maintained by the Allard Equipment Centre. Support includes routine equipment maintenance and equipment booking duties.
This is a part time casual position working late evenings and weekends, with flexibility to cover shifts as required between September - May.

Skills

The successful candidate will posses the following skills and abilities:
•    Working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 and Google cloud offerings.
•    Desktop operating systems experience, including Windows 10, and MAC OS.
•    Experience with wireless configuration and troubleshooting on all mobile devices including iOS, Android and Windows.
•    Experience in supporting PeopleSoft or Blackboard are an asset.
•    Experience supporting audiovisual and multimedia equipment.
•    Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines with little supervision.
•    Demonstrated strong organizational skills with a focus on providing exceptional customer service. 

Qualifications

Candidates must have a minimum of a 2-year technology diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution or be enrolled in a Computer Science degree program. Candidates must have a minimum of one-year experience in a technology support environment.  Experience with public service and/or end user support is also required. 

Position Requirements

Availability to work late evenings and weekends is required.
