Teaching Assistant Position

To be eligible for a Teaching Assistant position, candidates must be registered McGill University Graduate Students.

Position Summary:
Facilitate student opportunities for field-based observations of vertebrate diversity and natural history. Mediate on-line peer-to-peer sharing and review of image, audio, and video-files. Evaluation of reports and natural history observations. 

Broad training in biology/environmental sciences and field research experience. Must be able to identify local birds, mammals, amphibians and fish. Skills (or ability to learn) facilitating on-line learning. Ability to communicate effectively with students, in person, in the field and via remote connection. 

Please note that given the resumption of most in-person teaching activities, Teaching Assistants will be required on campus to perform their tasks in person.  Should government restrictions prohibit the resumption of in-person teaching activities, courses will revert to remote teaching. In the event of such a change, Teaching Assistants will be advised as soon as possible.  Teaching Assistants may be required to perform tasks suited to a remote/online teaching environment using a virtual learning platform [e.g., Zoom, WebEx] and the McGill MyCourses learning management system.
