Position Summary:
Family Medicine : An examination and reflection of traditional Indigenous world view and ways of knowing; the Canadian colonization and assimilation experience and their outcomes and impacts; and the contemporary Indigenous health research landscape bringing Indigenous ways of knowing and practice into the field and to future studies.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Meet with the Course Supervisor to discuss guidelines, marking policies, and course material.

  • Read the required material for the class and other secondary material necessary for the class.

  • Prepare engaging class activities and facilitate student discussions.

  • Attend lectures held by the Course Supervisor.

  • Support during exams by addressing student questions, making corrections, and distributing exam materials.

  • Manage online course content, communicate with students via email, and be available for consultation during office hours.


Qualifications:

  • Minimum of Master's degree (in progress) 

  • Familiarity with Canadian/North American Indigenous culture, and Canadian history concerning Indigenous Peoples

  • Understanding of contemporary health issues facing Indigenous Peoples

  • Experience working with Indigenous communities is an asset
