This posting is for a unionized contractual YEARLONG appointment that spans one academic year. A Teaching Assistant is a Graduate Student employed to assist the Course Supervisor as a Teaching Assistant in a classroom environment. Teaching Assistant Positions are governed by the Collective Agreement between McGill University and the Association of Graduate Students Employed at McGill (AGSEM) .

Position Summary:
This requisition is for one position, at 190 hours, in the Department of Educational and Counselling Psychology. Course dates are August 30, 2023 to December 5, 2023 and January 4, 2024 to April 12, 2024. Effective dates of appointment are August 27, 2022 to December 16, 2023 and December 24, 2023 to April 20, 2024.

Responsibilities may include:

• Marking

• Preparing Class Materials

• Leading Discussion Groups

• Assisting Students' learning

• Attending classes (F23 Practicum: Thursdays from 8:35AM to 11:25AM; Tutorial: Thursdays from 11:35AM to 2:25PM; W24 Practicum: Thursdays from 8:35AM to 11:25AM; Tutorial: Thursdays from 11:35AM to 2:25PM;)

Qualifications:

• Ph.D. Student (School/Applied Child Psychology Program)

• Advanced understanding of assessment and testing materials

• Must have successfully completed this course EDSP 705D1/D2 or equivalent

• Knowledge of French may be required
