This posting is for one unionized contractual appointments. A Teaching Assistant is a Graduate Student employed to assist the Course Supervisor as a Teaching Assistant in a classroom environment. Teaching Assistant Positions are governed by the Collective Agreement between McGill University and the Association of Graduate Students Employed at McGill (AGSEM) .

Position Summary:
This requisition is for one position, at 60 hours, in the Department of Educational and Counselling Psychology. Effective dates of appointment are January 2 to April 23, 2022. Course dates January 5 to April 12, 2022.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Marking

  • Preparing Class Materials

  • Leading Discussion Groups

  • Assisting Students' Learning

  • Will be required to attend class lectures (Tuesdays from 6:05PM to 8:55PM)


Qualifications:

  • Must be a current Ph.D. student

  • Familiarity with subject matter of the course

  • Experience using MyCourses for course management

  • Knowledge in French may be required

Please note that given the resumption of most in-person teaching activities, Teaching Assistants will be required on campus to perform their tasks in person. Should government restrictions prohibit the resumption of in-person teaching activities, courses will revert to remote teaching. In the event of such a change, Teaching Assistants will be advised as soon as possible.  Teaching Assistants may be required to perform tasks suited to a remote/online teaching environment using a virtual learning platform [e.g., Zoom, WebEx] and the McGill myCourses learning management system.  

Hourly Salary:

$32.38
