This posting is for a unionized contractual YEARLONG appointment that spans one academic year. A Teaching Assistant is a McGill Graduate Student employed to assist the Course Supervisor as a Teaching Assistant in a classroom environment. Teaching Assistant Positions are governed by the Collective Agreement between McGill University and the Association of Graduate Students Employed at McGill (AGSEM) .

Total Hours of Work per Term: 45 per term (90 total for F23-W24)
Position Summary:

This requisition is for one position, at 45 hours per term, in the Department of Educational and Counselling Psychology. Course dates are August 30, 2023 to December 5, 2023 and January 4, 2024 to April 12, 2024. Effective dates of appointment are August 27, 2022 to December 16, 2023 and December 24, 2023 to April 20, 2024. 

Responsibilities may include:

  • Marking

  • Preparing Class Materials

  • Leading Discussion Groups

  • Assisting Students' learning

  • Attending classes ***Regular class attendance may be required. Candidates who apply for this posting should be available during the scheduled class time for this course (F23: Mondays from 6:05PM to 8:55PM & W24: Mondays from 6:05PM to 8:55PM)


Qualifications:

  • Must be a McGill student with background in the subject matter of the course

  • Background in Education for Teacher-Education Courses

  • myCourses experience may be required

  • Knowledge in French may be required
