This posting is for one unionized contractual appointment. A Teaching Assistant is a Graduate Student employed to assist the Course Supervisor as a Teaching Assistant in a classroom environment. Teaching Assistant Positions are governed by the Collective Agreement between McGill University and the Association of Graduate Students Employed at McGill (AGSEM)

Position Summary:

This requisition is for (1) position, in the Department of Integrated Studies in Education. 

• Course dates are August 28, 2024 to December 4, 2024.

• Effective dates of appointmen t are August 26, 2024 to December 20, 2024.

Responsibilities may include:

• Marking and grading

• Preparing course materials

• Assisting students' learning

• Leading discussions

• Project supervision

• Provide feedback to students on presentations and/or course work

• Attending classes (Fridays 11:35 AM to 2:25 PM)

Qualifications:

• Knowledge of key concepts in Indigenous education.

• Familiar with significant historical and contemporary events related to Indigenous education.

• Must be McGill Graduate students.

As per collective agreement 2.11 A teaching assistant is a Graduate student at the Master’s or Doctoral level employed to assist a Course Supervisor as a Teaching Assistant or Demonstrator.
