About Dalhousie University | Dalhousie is a leading innovative, research-intensive university, inspiring our diverse scholarly community to serve Nova Scotia, our region, our nation, and the world. We make a lasting impact by blending transformative academic programs with pioneering research on Canada’s East Coast. Dalhousie brings together the brightest minds from diverse perspectives to drive the region’s intellectual, social, and economic development. We are committed to fostering a respectful and inclusive space for everyone who works or studies at the university. |
Job Summary | Dalhousie’s Talent Pathways temporary staffing program connects skilled and talented individuals with short-term hybrid and in-person job opportunities in Faculties and Administrative Units across our East Coast campuses. Talent Pathways supports Dalhousie’s strategic plans on equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility by creating opportunities for folks from underrepresented communities experiencing barriers to employment. A temporary placement is a “foot in the door” to gain valuable experience in a unionized academic environment which increases the chances of finding an on-going position at Dal. Opportunities through Talent Pathways are designated to applicants that identify as equity-deserving. Dalhousie defines equity-deserving groups as Indigenous persons (especially Mi’kmaq), persons with a disability, racialized persons, including persons of Black/African descent (especially African Nova Scotians), women, and persons belonging to the 2SLGBTQ+ community. If you are a member of one of these equity-deserving groups, you must self-identify during the application process to be considered. Please register by clicking the Apply button and completing the screens that follow. Please include a cover letter in your application that outlines the type of work you are interested in doing at Dalhousie and how your skills and/or lived experience have prepared you for this type of work. |
Key Responsibilities | Roles filled through Talent Pathways include, but not limited to: • Office Administration/Clerical • Campus Security • Communications • Custodial • Data Entry/Analysis • Financial Administration • Human Resources • Information Technology Services • Customer Service • Skilled Trades |
