Position Summary:
The candidate will perform various molecular biology techniques in the laboratory to aid in genotyping of mouse colony (PCR, DNA extraction, DNA purification, gel electrophoresis).
Additional laboratory tasks may be completed depending on need/interest (making of solutions, stocking).
The candidate will be expected to keep a detailed note book and maintain a clean bench.
Contract period: May 1, 2024 – August 31, 2024.
Qualifications:
Candidate must be enrolled as an Undergraduate student (Preferably a U3 student).
Must be eligible for the McGill work-study program. (Please attach your Proof of Enrollment and Work-Study confirmation letter)
Basic lab safety (WHMIS) training must be completed prior to the start date.
Knowledge of French and English:
McGill University is an English-language university where day to day duties may require English communication both verbally and in writing. The level of English required for this position has been assessed at a level 3 (qualifier) on a scale of 0-4.
