Position Summary:

  • The candidate will perform various molecular biology techniques in the laboratory to aid in genotyping of mouse colony (PCR, DNA extraction, DNA purification, gel electrophoresis).

  • Additional laboratory tasks may be completed depending on need/interest (making of solutions, stocking).

  • The candidate will be expected to keep a detailed note book and maintain a clean bench.

  • Contract period: May 1, 2024 – August 31, 2024.


Qualifications:

  • Candidate must be enrolled as an Undergraduate student (Preferably a U3 student).

  • Must be eligible for the McGill work-study program. (Please attach your Proof of Enrollment and Work-Study confirmation letter)

  • Basic lab safety (WHMIS) training must be completed prior to the start date.

Knowledge of French and English:

McGill University is an English-language university where day to day duties may require English communication both verbally and in writing. The level of English required for this position has been assessed at a level 3 (qualifier) on a scale of 0-4.
