Department of Oncology:

Student Research Assistant (Graduate)

Position Summary:

Under the supervision of the Research Supervisor, the selected candidate will perform various responsibilities listed below:

  • Read documentation on systematic reviews and meta-analyses.

  • Review literature on a research topic (genital microbiomes and HPV).

  • Draft a study protocol for a systematic review.

  • Register study protocols in an online repository.

  • Work with a health sciences librarian to create a database search strategy.

  • Manage references and publications using reference manager software (Endnote).

  • Read paper titles, abstracts, and texts to screen for inclusion in review.

  • Attend team meetings and work collaboratively with others to achieve objectives.

Education:

An active McGill student, enrolled in or completed a Graduate diploma or MSc in a health-related field.

Other Skills & Abilities:

  • Experience or training in conducting systematic reviews.

  • Experience or training in microbiology.

  • Experience or training in cancer epidemiology.

  • Proficiency with reference manager software.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with others on projects.
