Rare Books & Special Collections
Position Summary:
Under the direction of a Library staff member, Student Project Assistant performs a range of duties including but not limited to: move and shelve library materials; provide access to library records (i.e. edit, create, and load records); data entry; prepare and organize materials for circulation and/or off-site storage; other duties as assigned. Training and orientation will be provided. All duties to be completed on-site, in Rare Books and Special Collections, McLennan Library Building.
Hours of work:

30 hours per week (est.).  It is understood that the work schedule will be based on availability and the needs of the unit. Hours of work will be established by the supervisor and there is no guarantee of a pre-determined schedule, or a minimum number of hours of work

Attention to detail
Comfortable lifting boxes onto shelves; working in a sometimes dusty environment

English: spoken, written and read. French: spoken and read is an asset. McGill University is an English-language university where day-to-day duties may require English communication both verbally and in writing. Other languages an asset.
