SAIT’s Applied Research and Innovation Services department helps partners conceptualize, prototype and deliver products to market. ARIS is on the leading edge of novel technology development. The Opportunity
The Student/Research Grant Administrator (SRGA) plays a vital role in supporting research grant administration, the development and facilitation of student and internship grants, and various student engagement initiatives within Applied Research and Innovation Services (ARIS) at SAIT. Reporting to the Research Grants Manager, the SRGA facilitates, guides and supports student grant development, gathers and maintains required reporting metrics, assists in data management for the team, and supports departmental Equity, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) initiatives.  
The Role
    • Initiate and facilitate ARIS student internship grants from application to final reporting and close-out. Programs include, but are not limited to, Mitacs, CICan, EcoCanada, etc.
    • Review and interpret feedback regarding unsuccessful student grants to assist in strengthening future applications.
    • Support ARIS Grants Team with research grant administration and metrics gathering
    • Design and prepare reports for research and student grant applications: results, success rates, KPIs, EDI activities, etc
    • Maintain appropriate research and student grant indicative data in various databases (data entry and management)
    • Review and track research and student awards; advise appropriate teams of upcoming reporting requirements, facilitate progress and final report submission, ensuring completion and appropriate documentation is included.
    • Respond to and support ARIS Operations Team and Research Team queries regarding student-related grant policies and procedures.
    • Identify, analyze and assess student funding opportunities in all research disciplines for distribution to ARIS Academic Engagement Facilitators and Research Centres Student Leads.
    • Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date knowledge of previously stated funding opportunities, requirements and reporting.
    • Assist and advise ARIS Academic Engagement Facilitators, ARIS Research Centers Student Leads and students in

    • -the preparation and submission of student funding applications.
      -navigating internal application processes and policies.
    • Support ARIS Academic Engagement Facilitators with

    • -data management processes for student engagement initiatives.
      -outreach to SAIT student associations and schools for engagement opportunities.
      -onboarding students involved in engagement opportunities with ARIS research centers.
    • Communicate interesting student-related stories to Research Grants Manager and Academic Engagement Facilitators for development and dissemination in various ARIS/SAIT communications.

Qualifications
    • Minimum diploma from an accredited post-secondary institution, and 2 years' experience in areas of grants administration and/or student funding support
    • Experience in fostering effective communication within and among multidisciplinary groups
    • Outstanding interpersonal and organizational skills
    • Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously
    • Detail oriented, resourceful, innovative, flexible, accessible
    • Proven capacity to excel in an independent, highly confidential, ever-changing work environment
    • Exceptional listening, verbal and written communication skills
    • Very strong editorial and documentation skills, especially in relation to technical documents
    • Experience in using word processing, spreadsheet, database and Internet applications and tools
    • Ability to work with grants database software
    • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
    • Ability to quickly shift priorities; being nimble and adaptable in response to evolving circumstances and emerging challenges

Salary Range: $60,000- $70,000
