About the Organization
The Respiratory Epidemiology Research Team conducts research related to lung health across the lifespan and the epidemiology of respiratory diseases. The research program includes studies that collect primary data, analyses of secondary data as well as evidence synthesis projects.
Job Summary
Reporting to the Principal Investigator (PI), the Statistician/Biostatistician will apply their knowledge and skills in data analysis, statistics, data visualization, and interpretation to large datasets in order to support the PI across multiple projects.
Key Responsibilities
  • Independently prepare and manage research databases.
  • Apply advanced statistical skills to design, analyze, report, and visualize data from clinical research studies.
  • Prepare summary reports and presentations for a variety of audiences.
  • Investigate new analytical approaches.
  • Contribute to and prepare reports, manuscripts, and other knowledge dissemination materials.
  • Work collaboratively with students, and other research staff on multi-disciplinary projects.
Note
Due to operational requirements, the successful applicant is required to work in-person on campus.
Required Qualifications
  • Masters degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Biostatistics, Epidemiology, or other relevant discipline with a minimum of 3 years of experience working with population level health data, or clinical health data.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability work with multiple competing priorities and deadlines with excellent prioritization and time management skills.
  • Possess critical thinking skills with the ability to analyze information and problem-solve.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience working with either R, Stata, SAS, or a combination.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools including Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint, etc.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to explain statistical concepts and results to non-statisticians.
  • Ability to work independently, as well as part of multidisciplinary team.
Assets
  • Previous experience working with respiratory outcomes data.
  • A minimum of 5 years of related research experience working with data and conducing statistical analyses.
