Description:

An introduction to diverse mediums and topics for exploration with an emphasis on experimentation and conceptual development. In addition to acquiring manual skills used in production of contemporary visual art, students are encouraged to explore their own individual creative process.

Class Schedule

L0101 - Monday & Wednesday 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm

Sessional dates of appointment: July 1, 2023 – August 31, 2023

Estimate of the course enrolment: Approximately 25 students per section

Salary: Sessional Lecturer I - $8,489.67; Sessional Lecturer I Long Term - $8,869.25; Sessional Lecturer II - $9,085.58; Sessional Lecturer III - $9,301.90

Please note that should rates stipulated in the collective agreement vary from rates stated in this posting, the rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail.

Minimum Qualifications: MFA (or equivalent graduate degree) required with teaching experience. Strong exhibition history and currently exhibiting artist. Applicants will be asked to supply references.

Preferred Qualifications: International practice, previous teaching experience.

Description of DutiesPreparation and delivery of course material; managing digital teaching materials, supervision of teaching assistants; preparation and delivery of assignments, tests, final examinations, and deferred final examinations; marking of student work, submission of grades, dealing with student enquiries, appeals and petitions, and student contact hours.
