Course number and title: FAH274H5F Renaissance Art and Architecture

 A selective survey of the major art centres, types of artistic production, personalities, and trends in Italy and the North, from the early fifteenth century to the mid-sixteenth. The creation and diffusion of art are addressed through an understanding of historical techniques (media), cultural determinants such as patronage, and significant works of art.  

Estimated course enrolment: 50

Estimated TA support: 1 TA

Class schedule: Wednesday and Friday 11:00-13:00; tutorials, 13:00-15:00 - online synchronous

Sessional dates of appointment:  May 6th, 2024 - June 17th, 2024.

$9,457.90 (Sessional Lecturer I)  

$9,930.79 (Sessional Lecturer I Long Term)  

$10,121.77 (Sessional Lecturer II) 

$10,326.62 (Sessional Lecturer II Long Term)  

$10,362.76 (Sessional Lecturer III) 

$10,570.02 (Sessional Lecturer III  Long Term)

(inclusive of 4% or 6% vacation pay) for 0.5 FCE (half course)

Minimum qualifications: A Ph.D is essential. Demonstrated excellence in teaching this course online is preferred. Demonstrated excellence in teaching an online DVS course desired. Experience as a sole responsibility course instructor is an asset.

Description of duties: 

(May include but are not limited to): All normal online duties related to the design and teaching of a university credit course, including preparation and delivery of course material, preparation and delivery of assignments, tests and/or exams, supervision of teaching assistants, marking of students’ work, submission of grades to university officials, and holding regular office hours. 

Scheduling of guest speakers is limited to one week class session.
