Course number and title: Sessional Lecturer EAS273H1 - Modern Chinese Cities

Course Description  This course offers a critical review of the history and historiography of modern Chinese cities. Focusing on the development of specific Chinese cities, the course emphasizes understanding the socio-cultural production of space as well as analytical reading of landscape, urban imagery, and urban writings.

Salary:

Sessional Lecturer I - $9,457.90;

Sessional Lecturer I - Long Term - $9,930.79;

Sessional Lecturer II - $10,121.77;

Sessional Lecturer II - Long Term - $10,326.62;

Sessional Lecturer III - $10,362.76;

Sessional Lecturer III - Long Term - $10,570.02

Please note that should rates stipulated in the collective agreement vary from rates stated in this posting, the rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail.

Minimum qualifications: Completed PhD in area related to the course required with significant graduate work and ongoing academic development in the field.

Preferred qualifications: Teaching experience at the university level preferred with evidence of superior teaching evaluations. 

Description of duties: Preparing lesson plans and lectures; delivering lectures; developing and administering grading, course assignments, tests, and exams; and providing scheduled office hours for academic counselling of students.
