Duties and Responsibilities:

The SERG/DPPE Graduate Administrator supports the five credit Sustainable Energy (SERG) program leading to either an MA, MASc, or MEng. The SERG/DPPE Graduate Administrator also supports the online 16-month, three credit graduate diploma in Public Policy and Program Evaluation (DPPE).

The SERG program is a graduate degree offered by three departments in the Faculty of Engineering and Design, and the School of Public Policy and Administration, Faculty of Public Affairs. Under the supervision of both the Chair and Associate Chair of the Graduate Committee on Sustainable Energy (GCSE) and the MA Graduate Supervisor and the MASc/MEng Graduate Supervisor, the SERG/DPPE Graduate Administrator is responsible for carrying out substantially all administrative matters pertaining to the program and carrying out the delivery of student services.

The DPPE diploma program is offered by the School of Public Policy and Administration, Faculty of Public Affairs. Under the supervision of the Program Supervisor, the SERG/DPPE Graduate Administrator is responsible for carrying out substantially all administrative matters pertaining to the program and carrying out the delivery of student services.


Qualifications:

The incumbent must possess the following qualifications:
• Superior planning skills, understanding critical paths, setting priorities and meeting timelines. • Through superior organizational skills, the incumbent must have the ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required.
• Strong professionalism, tact and diplomacy with a strong customer service ethic and high expectation for quality is required.
• The incumbent requires strong problem solving skills, must be self-motivated and is effective working in a team and independently.


Education and Experience:

The above is normally acquired through:
• The Completion of an undergraduate University degree.
• Four years of relevant experience preferably in the field of post-secondary educational administration; equivalencies will be considered.

Assets:
• Experience in an academic unit.
• Experience with student advising.
• Experience with website maintenance and social media.
