Your opportunity:

Reporting to the Executive Director of Advancement within the Office of Advancement at U of T Mississauga (UTM), the Senior Support Specialist will play a key role in supporting a broad range of administrative, prospecting and data activities and the successful operations of our office. The incumbent will collaborate within the UTM advancement team and with colleagues across the University, to effectively deliver results in support of UTM’s Defy Gravity marquee fundraising initiatives and alumni engagement pillars and priorities.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Identifying prospective donors and aligning them to key priorities, and writing comprehensive and complex donor profiles
  • Planning components of prospecting and data management/data integrity projects, and planning and implementing project phases
  • Probing for information to determine requirements for ad hoc and large data requests and advising on records management best practices and procedures
  • Liaising with management to determine goals and priorities
  • Maintaining senior staff calendars
  • Coordinating meeting schedules, agendas, materials, action and follow-up items
  • Coordinating tasks for projects and other strategic initiatives with stakeholders
  • Assigning and checking the work of work-study students

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree, or acceptable combination of equivalent experience
  • Minimum five (5) years of recent and related experience in the advancement field, preferably in an educational setting
  • Strong experience in the identification and research of fundraising prospects or sales
  • Significant and proven experience with data management/databases and preparing reports
  • Strong analytical and project management skills, including the ability to set priorities and workflows, meet deadlines, and facilitate/influence others to meet deadlines
  • Proven administrative experience coordinating meetings and calendars, preparing briefing materials and drafting correspondence
  • Highly proficient skills in MS Office, database software and social media platforms
  • Critical thinking and process management skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong collaborator, superior interpersonal skills, and excellent customer services skills, with meticulous attention to detail
  • Proven ability to deal with sensitive and confidential information
  • Ability to work with diverse groups, and ability to build and maintain strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to make sound recommendations, handle conflicting priorities and build consensus

Pay Scale Group & Hiring Zone:
USW Pay Band 13 -- $83,150 with an annual step progression to a maximum of $106,336. Pay scale and job class assignment is subject to determination pursuant to the Job Evaluation/Pay Equity Maintenance Protocol.
