Hiring Unit:
Bensadoun School of Retail Management

Position Summary:

Overseen by the Executive Director, BSRM, each RIC intern will have as principal responsibilities:

  • To be part of a three-to-four-person team with a BSRM team member, industry partners and 2 other students from BCom and MMA  that will build the case study and related data set for one of the companies participating in the challenge,
  • To assist in writing the case study,
  • To assist in the collection of data, cleaning it and summarizing to be part of the data set to the case,
  • To be part of the frequent meetings and interactions with members of the company in question,
  • To be part of the overall RIC team and the relevant meetings,
  • To use their network to attract student teams to participate in the competition,
  • To assist in other tasks to make sure that the first edition of the competition runs smoothly over the course of the period Oct 21 to Nov 5. These tasks have yet to be defined.
  • Note that the early portion of the competition will take place virtually while the final weekend is currently planned live on campus.

Other Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities:

Ability to prioritize and multi-task; strong organizational skills, reliable, self-motivated with an ability to work autonomously and with others in a team. Must be client-focused and service-oriented; strong desire to work in an entrepreneurial educational environment. English (spoken and written), French (spoken and written) an asset.

MMR first year student or U2 of the McGill University BCom Degree program, with a concentration in Retail and preferably a focus on finance, analytics and/or IS. Case-writing skills.  Basic knowledge in computer design software and content management systems (HTML programming, Adobe Suite, social media platforms); strong critical thinking capabilities.


Minimum Education and Experience:


High School Diploma 2 Years Related Experience


Hourly Salary:


(AMUSE C) $18.00
