Job Summary
Dalhousie Medical School attracts some of Canada’s top students, physicians, and health researchers. With campuses in Halifax, Nova Scotia and Saint John, New Brunswick, and over 100 teaching sites across the Maritimes, we provide aspiring doctors and health researchers with the highest caliber of education. Reporting to the Director, Medical Research Development Office, the Coordinator, Faculty Research Programs will coordinate all aspects of these funding programs, including stakeholder engagement, guideline development/review, application intake and adjudication, and award process.
Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the application, review and awards process for Faculty of Medicine’s research portfolio.
  • Review research programs to foster research excellence.
  • Effectively communicate each research program’s guidelines and processes.
  • Work collaboratively with other units at Dal, including the Office of Research Services, Financial Services and with departments within the Faculty of Medicine for process efficiency and accuracy.
  • Ensure appropriate data is captured in the application and reporting process.
  • Work with the Director, MRDO to ensure financial processes are accurate and up-to date.
Note
The successful applicant will be eligible for hybrid work (combination of in-person work on campus and remote work) as agreed by all parties based on operational requirements and university guidelines.
Required Qualifications
  • Business Administration diploma with three to five years of relevant experience (or an equivalent combination of training and experience).
  • Ability to work on multiple projects and with diverse teams.
  • Time management, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Initiative and the ability to work independently, as well as part of a team.
Assets
  • Experience in research administration within an academic research environment.
  • Undergraduate degree.
  • Experience with project management.
