Duties and Responsibilities:

Research Financial Services is hiring for a casual Research Finance Clerks (6 month position).


Qualifications:

The incumbent must possess the following qualifications:
1. Review payment requisitions, suppliers’ invoices, reimbursement requests, other accounts payable documents and payroll requisitions to ensure that they comply with:
i. Funding Agency policies
ii. University policies
iii. Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) rules for determination of employment status
iv. CRA rules related to Harmonized Sales Tax (HST)
v. CRA rules related to taxable income in Canada
vi. Budget availability
vii. And other compliance requirements that may arise
Any discrepancies are followed up with the requestor and/or the Financial Officer prior to approval for payment.

2. Review/approve payments using a variety of software tools depending on the request and/or payment type. The incumbent must be familiar with each tool and be able to resolve, or escalate as appropriate, processing issues as they arise.

3. Perform audit of Purchasing Card (PCard) cardholder reconciliations, ensuring full supporting documentation is collected and retained, and expenses comply Funding Agency and University policies.

4. Special projects and other duties as assigned.


Education and Experience:

The above is normally acquired through the completion of:
• 3-year Undergraduate Degree or 3 year College Diploma
• Minimum of 3 years of previous experience in a related area

If required to work remotely, you will be notified by your manager when working full time physically onsite will resume.
