Job Description

RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF THE MUHC
The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre. Located in Montreal, Quebec, the Institute is the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University. The RI-MUHC is supported in part by the Fonds de recherche du Québec - Santé (FRQS).

Position summary
We are seeking a dynamic individual to join our MUHC emergency medicine research team. The research associate will play an integral role in supporting the successful conduct of clinical research studies at the MUHC emergency departments.

General Duties
- Screen for possible inclusion in studies,
- Consent and recruit research participants,
- Complete questionnaires, evaluations, and telephone interviews,
- Participate in the process of data entry quantitative and qualitative,
- Assist in preparation of IRB protocols,
- Assist in preparation of posters and presentations,
- Update department research log,
- Communicate with principal investigators as well investigators and research staff at other sites,
- Participate in regular team meetings and conference calls,
- Assist with grant applications and seeking new sources of research funding.


Education / Experience

Education: Master’s degree in health-related field.

Experience: Previous clinical research experiences is an asset.


Required Skills

- Bilingual French and English, written and spoken,
- Excellent interpersonal skills,
- Able to work under minimal supervision,
- Experience with MS Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook, R or python, familiarity with EndNote, statistics, data collection and randomization software,
- Familiarity with Ethics (IRB) submission process,
- Willingness and ability to work flexible hours.


Additional information

Status: Temporary, part time (3-month contract and 20 hours/week)
Pay Scale: $26.65/hour
Work Shift: 20 hours per week between Monday and Friday and between 9 am and
5 pm
Work Site: Glen site and Montreal General Hospital
