RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF THE MUHC
The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre. Located in Montreal, Quebec, the Institute is the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University. The RI-MUHC is supported in part by the Fonds de recherche du Québec - Santé (FRQS).

Position summary
Under the immediate supervision of the lead researcher, the incumbent will join a team developing a self-management resource for people aging with HIV. The goal of the program is to improve quality of life, optimize cognition and prevent cognitive decline. A self-assessment underlines the presence and severity of several relevant symptoms and health conditions (20-30 conditions such as depression, anxiety, pain, fatigue, hypertension, diabetes). For each symptom/health condition, information is provided on the potential impact on quality of life and brain health, and self-management resources are suggested to improve that symptom/health condition.

We are currently looking for a highly motivated, organized, enthusiastic research assistant to join our dynamic team.

General Duties
• Identify self-management resources available for each symptom/health condition, primarily from Canadian resources,
• Evaluate the quality of these resources to guide selection for the self-management program,
• If necessary, in the absence of a quality resource, develop a self-management resource from available materials,
• Prepare material for use: this may involve contributing to the revision of translation, layout, preparation of a summary or explanatory document,
• Attend project meetings, collaborate with the resource development team, including people living with HIV, to guide selection,
• Perform other duties related to the position, as assigned by the supervisor.

Education / Experience

Education: Bachelor's Degree
Field of Study: Psychology, communications
Other education considered an asset for this position: N/A
Work Experience: 1-3 years

Other Requirements:

• Excellent command of written and spoken English and French
• Attention to detail and critical thinking
• Team spirit and good communication skills
• Experience with a self-management program would be a major asset


Additional information

Status: Temporary Part-Time
Pay Scale: Commensurate with education and experience / $48,503.00 – $90, 090.00.
Work Shift: To be determined, the preparation of all material must be completed by the end of August 2024.
