Position Summary:

The Research Assistant's responsibilities are:

  • Recruitment: Develop relationships with Montreal community organizations working with newly arrived humanitarian migrants in order to recruit participants.

  • Project coordination: Liaise with the McGill Dental Clinic to set up, guide and coordinate data collection.

  • Data collection: a) Conduct clinical examinations; b) Support participants in completing the survey questionnaire.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Minimum requirement: Masters Degree

  • Candidate must be licensed, or eligible to obtain a license, that would enable them to conduct dental clinical examinations at McGill Dental Clinics.

  • Research experience will be an asset.

Qualifications:

  • Bilingual (English, French); additional languages will be an asset.

  • Ability to develop relationships with community organizations

  • Ability to communicate respectfully with humanitarian migrants

  • Good communication skills

  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently with colleagues and study participants from varied cultures and professional backgrounds
