Position Summary:


The successful candidate will work primarily on the following sections of the project: 


Qualitative data analysis: In conjunction with the lead Research Associate, the Research Assistant will gather, analyze and report on surveys and drawings done by research participants. The successful candidate will have the ability to support the analysis of quantitative and qualitative data, and to synthesize thematic analyses into reflections or reports. 


Artistic Research Publication: Manage the creation of an art book publication in French and English, based on the findings collected in phases 2 and 3 of the project. The art book will address the questions of agency posed in the project objectives by highlighting and synthesizing the images and reflections taken in years 1 and 2. The creation of this book may also include other PVM methods in use throughout the project lifecycle. 


Participate in weekly online team meetings providing regular updates on ongoing progress. 


Administrative support: Provide administrative support for the project as needed


Qualifications:


1. Currently holds or in pursuit of a Master's or PhD in Education, Policy, International Development, or a relevant discipline. 


2. Interest in research in areas related to Gender, Education and/or Child Protection, particularly in Sub-Saharan Africa and in conflict-affected contexts. 


3. Knowledge of Qualitative Methods, particularly in the area of Participatory Visual Methodology (PVM). 


4. Proficiency with Canva or other design software (Adobe InDesign, Photoshop or Illustrator) 


5. Bilingual: Fluency in both French and English. 


6. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills along with a high degree of attention to detail. 


7. Familiarity with NVIVO is an asset.
