The Faculty of Dental Medicine and Oral Health Sciences at McGill University is seeking a Research Assistant to support the implementation and maintenance of a multi-center, open-label, prospective clinical trial. The trial, funded by the NIH under the aegis of the Brittle Bone Disorders Consortium, aims to determine the safety and efficacy of clear aligners in the treatment of malocclusions in individuals with Osteogenesis Imperfecta. The successful candidate will assist in various study-related tasks, including recruiting and screening participants, preparing study materials, collecting and uploading study data, and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Duties:

  • Recruit and screen potential study participants
  • Schedule participant visits and follow up on ClinCard payments
  • Prepare study materials and supplies
  • Ensure regulatory compliance with institutional and national guidelines
  • Administer questionnaires
  • Collect, review, and upload study data
  • Maintain study files and databases
  • Communicate with Principal Investigators, Research Coordinator, Study sponsors, Institutional Review Boards
  • Attend virtual research meetings

Qualifications:

  • Master of Science in a relevant field, such as biology or health sciences
  • Knowledge of clinical research methods and regulations
  • Previous experience in clinical research is preferred but not required
  • Excellent organization and communication skills, in both English and French language
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in data collection and management

The successful candidate will work under the supervision of Dr. Julia Cohen-Levy, Assistant Professor in the Division of Orthodontics in the Faculty of Dental Medicine and Oral Health Sciences, and will have the opportunity to contribute to groundbreaking research on Osteogenesis Imperfecta. This is a part-time, 5-month position with the possibility of extension.
