For the first part, project will identify vulnerable regions with respect to flooding using appropriate datasets and analysis, followed by the development of a framework for detailed dam-level vulnerability analysis using CFD modelling. This will be done under the supervision of Prof. Agus Sasmito.

The second-part of the project focusses on bridge/overpass resilience, and will involve application of hydrodynamic models to understand hydrodynamic loads in terms of flow velocities and depths for selected bridge/overpass locations and configurations. This work will be done under the supervision of Prof. Laxmi Sushama.
Qualifications: MSc in Civil Engineering is required at the time of appointment. The ideal candidate should have experience with design flood estimation techniques (at-site and regional frequency analysis), climate model/reanalysis data processing, extraction and analysis and technical report/journal paper preparation. Hydrologic and hydrodynamic modelling experience would be an asset.
