The CITF is hiring one full-time research assistant to work with Dr. Alton Russell, who leads the Data-Driven Decision Modeling (D3Mod) lab , on disease surveillance and immunity projects that inform decision makers on pandemic preparedness and health resource allocation. The successful candidate will:

  • Conduct data analysis using COVID-19 health information data under the direction of senior staff;
  • Assist with the management and analysis of data held in the CITF databank and other large databases;
  • Draft and submit relevant documents for ethical approval of relevant projects;
  • Contribute to the preparation of reports for granting agencies, and manuscripts for publication;
  • Contribute to presentations for scientific meetings, seminars, workshops for various public and academic audiences.

Education & Experience

At minimum a Master’s degree in epidemiology, data science, health policy management, or a related field is required (PhD is preferred).  Candidates should also have experience working in applied health services research settings.

Other Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities

Research experience analyzing health datasets using R or a similar programing language is an asset. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, analytic skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a team are essential. Must have strong organizational and priority setting skills, and be able to work autonomously in a complex, changing, deadline-oriented environment. Demonstrated leadership potential and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities without supervision is necessary. Fluency in French is an asset.
