Position Summary:

  • Literature review which includes reviewing scientific publications for information on attributes of species of conservation concern in Canada.
  • Spatial analysis using the software package R including processes raster data layers of climate and distribution data.
  • Participate in weekly lab meetings to discuss project status, updates, etc.


Demonstrated skills in data management and statistical analysis using the software R. Candidate must also be motivated to contribute to biodiversity
research, and willing to learn and work both independently and in a group setting. *All tasks can be completed remotely depending on the status of COVID related regulations.

Experience and education:
Candidate must be currently enrolled as an undergraduate student at McGill, and enrolled for the fall 2021 semester. Candidate should preferably have experience with research in an ecology lab and/or have taken courses in programming, statistics or biodiversity science (e.g. BIOL 206, BIOL 310, COMP204).
