Department of Psychology (Professor John Lydon)

Position Summary:

  • Prepare survey research materials for the Fear of Being Single study-gathering questionnaires that measure social psychological properties
  • Compile and analyze data; enter information in appropriate computer system
  • Assist in the supervision of 4 honour students conducting theses on interpersonal relationships
  • Data proofing for Fear of being single study—checking for errors and eliminating data from participants who failed the attention check.
  • Data coding of open ended questions in the Construal Study and the Fear of Being Single study
  • Setting agenda for lab meetings
  • Assist with preparation of ethics submissions for Construal Study, Shared Reality Study
  • Assists with preparation of research grant applications to SSHRC and FRQSC
  • Assign and oversee research activities of undergraduate in the lab who pilot test materials for al studies. 

Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of experimental social psychology. 
  • Works well with others. 
  • Can structure time and prioritize tasks. 

Experience and education:

  • Bachelors in psychology
