School of Computer Science

Position Summary:

The RA will have the following duties under supervision of Dr. Li:

  • Processing UKB administrative data to clearly separate baseline and incidence records

  • Using our recently developed MixEHR-seed [Song et al., KDD 2022] to infer phenotypes from the baseline administrative health records data from the UKB.

  • Evaluate model performance using the incidence records

  • Perform PheWAS by investigating phenotype topic distributions

  • Provide weekly updates on the project 6. Manuscript writing

Qualifications:

  • The candidate must have a BSc in computer science or equivalence

  • Currently enrolled in a master program at McGill University

  • Good hands-on experience in processing UK Biobank data

  • Working knowledge of topic models

  • Completed related courses in health informatics and epidemiology

  • Knowledge of French and English: McGill University is an English-language university where day to day duties may require English communication both verbally and in writing. The level of English required for this position has been assessed at a level 4 on a scale of 0-4.
