Department of Psychology (Professor Jennifer Bartz)


Position Summary:

  • Responsible for the oversight and conduct of an on-going studies including “The Effects of Chronic Stress On Empathic Abilities"  in the lab.
  • Supervising both undergraduate and graduate students on using established protocols and procedures for the ongoing studies in the lab
  • Developing tasks to assess reward and threat processing in conjunction with EEG;
  • Planning and implementing an intensive repeated measurement study linking variation in the OPRM1 gene, in-lab EEG performance, and daily social behavior.
  • Manage and process data collected and adjust research protocols as needed in discussions with PI.
  • Analyze research data, and interpret results, and/or drafting research reports.
  • Ensure that all instructions given by data collectors to participants before and after appointment are correct.
  • Responsible for planning and implementing any new study resulting from present research in lab.
  • Will be involved with drafting and renewing research ethics protocols, as well as data organization and storage for other research projects.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Highly organized and professional; excellent judgment; discretion.
  • Must be self-motivated and proactive.
  • Must be proficient working with Microsoft Office: Excel, PowerPoint, Word; knowledge of Qualtrics and SPSS (or other statistical software) is an asset.
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Experience and education: Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree, preferably with major in Psychology.
