TERM Assignment:

This is a 6 month term position. Carleton University also welcomes applications from continuing employees. Duties and Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Manager, Research and Records, the incumbent is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, quality, completeness and integrity of database information on the Department’s 150,000 individual and corporate records and other duties in support of data integrity and access.


Qualifications:

The incumbent must possess the following qualifications:
• Possess a thorough understanding of Carleton University and commitment to its programs and the goals of University Advancement;
• Be able to work under strict deadlines and adjust to rapidly changing priorities;
• Show well-developed interpersonal skills including the ability to function well in a multiple-team setting, prioritize, work independently and meet deadlines;
• Demonstrate excellent face-to-face and written communication skills;
• Handle confidential materials and situations with sensitivity and discretion;
• Possess advanced general computer knowledge of Windows and network-based environments, Microsoft Office and Banner Advancement;
• Demonstrate effective, creative and flexible research skills using online, print, database and
CD-ROM resources.


Education and Experience:

The above is normally acquired through the completion of:
• Minimum of two (2) years progressive experience in University Advancement or nonprofit sector;
• Experience in data entry, office organization, research and, particularly, the use of computer
systems and databases;
• Preference will be given to candidates with experience of Banner Advancement;
• Current knowledge of trends and developments in Carleton’s information systems, as well as research techniques, information management, and fundraising policy and legislation;
• Continuous study is required to remain current with technology, university processes, and FIPPA policies and legislation.
