Job Description
In this role, you will design, develop, maintain and support web-based applications for faculty and learners. Working in close collaboration with the project team, you will gather business requirements, design and diagram interactive eLearning content, conduct programming and testing, deployment and system refactoring, and actively participate in Scrum processes to move our project forward.
Responsibilities will include:
• Writing complex technical code and designing, testing and modifying programming code
• Analyzing user needs and business processes to create programming solutions
• Program animation software to predefined specifications for interactive video games, Internet and mobile applications
• Develop interactive media to enhance eLearning and engage target audience
• Evaluating programming code to ensure it has validity, compatibility, and that it meets appropriate standards
• Developing technical application implementation plans
• Planning and implementing components of web projects
• Conducting usability testing for web applications and troubleshooting and resolving technical issues
Qualifications:
• Current undergraduate student in a senior year of a program in Computer Science, Engineering, New Media Design or acceptable combination of equivalent experience
• Experience in website/software development and design including requirements analysis, system modeling, and database diagramming
• Fluent in JavaScript, AJAX, DHTML, XHTML, XML, CSS, and JQuery;
• Proficiency in PHP, IIS, APACHE/TOMCAT, MSSQL, and MySQL
• Experience developing remote services such as web services using RESTful API’s (JSON, XML) and messaging queues
• Experience with front end development frameworks (Bootstrap, Vue.js, ember) that support responsive design for platforms (desktop, tablet, smartphone)
• Demonstrated experience developing interactive media experiences
• Demonstrated experience working in an Agile software development environment
• Demonstrated experience with direct contact with clients, including training end users, and experience in open source development
• Must be self-motivated, results oriented, a quick learner with a strong customer service focus and impeccable attention to detail
• Works well under pressure in a fast paced environment, meets strict deadlines and has sound judgment
• Works effectively both independently and as part of a team
