The Sprott School of Business invites applications for a tenure-track position in Indigenous Entrepreneurship (Assistant/Associate/Full) effective July 1, 2023.

Indigenous candidates from all disciplinary backgrounds with demonstrated scholarly work in Indigenous business, management, finance and entrepreneurship, technology innovation, cross-border, digital and/or inclusive entrepreneurship are welcome to apply.

The successful candidate will deliver graduate and undergraduate courses to a culturally diverse student body, supervise graduate students, maintain an active research program, and participate actively in the ongoing development of our academic programs and initiatives in a highly collegial environment. Additionally, the successful candidate will develop academic content and collaborative programs across academic discipline areas to support Carleton University’s newly established Innovation Hub and the growth of Entrepreneurship programs across the university.

The successful candidate will possess a Ph.D., or equivalent, in Business, Management, Entrepreneurship or Finance with an emphasis on Indigenous business and entrepreneurship or be near completing their degree by July 2023. Candidates should demonstrate potential (Assistant Professor) or have a strong record of research publications and productivity (Associate Professor) consistent with AACSB guidelines for a doctoral-granting business school. Candidates should also demonstrate potential (Assistant Professor) or have a record of successful teaching (Associate Professor). Candidates with research and teaching interests in Indigenous issues in Indigenous entrepreneurship and economic development, integrating Indigenous knowledge into the learning environment, developing academic programs to serve Indigenous and non-Indigenous students and communities, working with Indigenous organizations, and related areas are particularly encouraged to apply. Candidates are encouraged to identify community connections. Candidates should demonstrate alignment with the research interests of Sprott faculty and the strategic mission of the Sprott School of Business.

The Sprott School of Business is committed to excellence in teaching and research and is accredited by AACSB. The School offers the following degrees: Bachelor of Commerce with Honours including a concentration in Entrepreneurship, a Bachelor of International Business with Honours, a Master of Business Administration including an off-campus program in China, a Master of Accounting, a Master of Entrepreneurship and a Ph.D. in Management. In addition, Sprott faculty contribute to the Master of Applied Science and Master of Engineering within the Technology Innovation Management programs.
