Position Description
The Department of History and Classical Studies at McGill University invites applications for the inaugural Peter C. Hoffmann Chair in German History, effective August 1, 2022.
Job Duties:
Research; teaching; service.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
The successful applicant is expected to hold a Ph.D. in History, or in a related field, and a demonstrated record of innovative research (including the publication of at least one research monograph). In addition, the successful applicant will be responsible for teaching German history in its entirety, including advanced courses in a period that must include two centuries between 1400 and 2000.
McGill University is an English-language institution, but a working knowledge of French is an asset.
