RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF THE MUHC
The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre. Located in Montreal, Quebec, the Institute is the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University. The RI-MUHC is supported in part by the Fonds de recherche du Québec - Santé (FRQS).
Position summary
This position is for a postdoctoral position in the Loganathan cancer research laboratory at the McGill University Health Center (https://lab.loganathan.mcgill.ca)
The project relates to role of HPV in head and neck cancer. The project will leverage CRISPR screening, in vivo models and high-throughput bioinformatics analysis of custom-made gene mutation libraries based on TCGA.
General Duties
• Lead and participate in research projects,
• Reviews and evaluates research findings, analyze results, prepares reports and manuscripts,
• Contributes to scientific content of research grant applications related to the project,
• Meet and report regularly to the principal investigator.
Education / Experience
Education: Ph.D. in the life sciences
Experience Required :
• Knowledge of in vivo models, genetics and handling,
• Knowledge and experience with standard molecular biology and biochemistry techniques including cloning, gene editing, lentivirus-based transfection, PCR, Western blotting, etc.
Other possible experiences:
• Knowledge and experience with CRISPR screening and technology (in vitro/in vivo),
• Knowledge and experience with large dataset analysis and bioinformatics,
• Good knowledge and experience in cell biology, confocal microscopy, cell imaging, flow cytometry.
Additional information
Status: Temporary Full-Time (35-hour workweek)
Pay Scale: A Postdoctoral Fellow will receive a stipend or a bursary from a grant for research activities that will be performed on a full-time basis. All benefits are administered by the University under which they are registered
Work Shift: Monday to Friday from 8:30 to 4:30
Work Site: Glen
