RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF THE MUHC
The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre. Located in Montreal, Quebec, the Institute is the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University. Position summary
The laboratory research interest is to study the molecular basis of early fetal loss in humans and female infertility. We use mouse knockout models to investigate the consequences of mutations in specific genes. The position is available to study the effect of mutations in two genes on the maturation of mouse oocytes during in vitro culture, meiotic progression, and on the development of their embryos.

General Duties
The project involves breeding and maintaining two lines of knockout mice, collecting oocytes, performing single-cell RNA-sequencing, the use of confocal immunofluorescence microscopy and live-imaging, in vitro fertilization, parthenogenetic activation, and morphological study of embryonic development.

We are seeking candidates who are career-oriented and self-motivated. Candidates should be able to work independently, have good communication and interpersonal skills, and hold an MD/PhD in biological sciences. Experience in oocyte collection, maturation, parthenogenetic activation, and in-vitro fertilization in mice are essential for the position. Flexibility in work hours is needed according to the experimental designs.

Status: Temporary, full time
Pay Scale: From $52,000 to $65,000/annum (35-hour workweek)
Work Shift: From 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Mondays to Fridays
