Position Summary:

The successful candidate will work primarily on the following sections of the project:

Data analysis: In conjunction with a lead postdoctoral researcher, McGill Participatory Visual Methodologies (PVM) researchers and international on-site coordinators data recruiters:

1) The candidate will transcribe and translate interviews conducted in Portuguese and Spanish into English;

2) Assist with thematic analysis and report on qualitative interviews;

3) organize social media and websites;

4) assist in research design;

5) attend study groups;

6) assist with literature review;

7) participate in team meetings;

8) eventually participate in workshops conducted by the principal investigator.

The successful candidate will be able to support the implementation of PVM study procedures online through Zoom and TEAMS and analyze quantitative and qualitative data collected to help implement procedures in the project's final phase.

Administrative support: offer administrative support for the research phases 1 and 2 portions of the project.

Artistic visual production (in case of a 2nd-year extension): assist in the production of a 20-minutes multimedia “digital dialogue” tool (short film with the results of the research)

Qualifications:

1.    In pursuit of a Masters in Education, Indigenous studies, or a relevant discipline.

2.    Interest in conducting research in areas related to Indigenous peoples and the interface land/body-dance and intergeneration, particularly in a trans-continental perspective.

3.    Former experience working with Indigenous individuals and/or communities.

4.    Knowledge of Qualitative Methods, particularly in the area of participatory visual methodology (PVM).

5.    Knowledge of English, Portuguese and/or Spanish languages (French is an asset).

6.    Availability for presential meetings.

7.    Knowledge of social media interfaces and ability to use cloud platforms, Word and Excel.

8.    Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills along with a high degree of attention to detail.

Canadian Citizen, Permanent Residency, or possess a valid Work/Study Visa for Canada.
