Job Summary & Key Responsibilities
WORK ASSIGNMENT: The part-time academic will serve as the Faculty Field Advisor for: SLWK 4034/4035 Sec 70 OR 71, “Field Practicum & Seminar”. The course will be offered in the Winter/Summer terms, from January-August 2025. Note: this is an online course and is part of the BSW program.
The part-time academic position is responsible for guiding a series of seminars, liaising with student field placement agencies for a series of meetings, dealing with any issues that arise within the field placement, overseeing the completion of an academic presentation, and conferring on final grades. The part-time academic should expect to be engaged in course preparations preceding course delivery.
Qualifications/Requirements of Position
REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION: Educational background with extensive experience in social work (or related fields) is required. Solid knowledge of a variety of social work skills and the ability to impart these skills to students. A Master of Social Work degree (or higher) and previous teaching experience is preferred.
Salary Range/Pay Rate Per CUPE Collective Agreement
