Job Summary & Key Responsibilities | WORK ASSIGNMENT: The part-time academic will serve as the Faculty Field Advisor for: SLWK 4034/4035 Sec 01, 02, OR 03, “Field Practicum & Seminar”. The course will be offered in the Fall/Winter terms, from September 2024 to April 2025. To confirm dates, times, and location of field seminars, please consult the Dalhousie University Academic Timetable. This course is part of the BSW program. The part-time academic position is responsible for guiding a series of seminars, liaising with student field placement agencies for a series of meetings, dealing with any issues that arise within the field placement, overseeing the completion of an academic presentation, and conferring on final grades. The part-time academic should expect to be engaged in course preparations preceding course delivery. |
Qualifications/Requirements of Position | REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION: Educational background with extensive experience in social work (or related fields) is required. Solid knowledge of a variety of social work skills and the ability to impart these skills to students. A Master of Social Work degree (or higher) and previous teaching experience is preferred. |
Salary Range/Pay Rate | Per CUPE Collective Agreement |
